I NEVER leave reviews and only ended up on this page because I needed specs for the piece of crap I'm having to replace. We bought this exact washer 6 or so years ago. Had trouble with it since day 1. We have probably had it serviced 5 or 6 times throughout the years for mechanical fails, and most recently the entire bolt snapped off if the agitator (middle part) and we were told to replace the 'transmission' it would cost $400. The bolt snapped clean off so the whole machine would have to be tore down to replace the transmission unit as a whole. RIDICULOUS - BEWARE. THIS IS WORSE THAN ANY OTHER APPLIANCE I'VE EVER OWNED.

My main issue with the washer is that it™™s really loud during spin cycle. It cleans and washes fine but the spin cycle is VERY loud. It used to not be that loud so maybe the bearings bad but the amount of noise it makes is ridiculous

Durability, Cycle Time... Both are problems with this model. I am about to have the lid lock sensor/harness replaced for the 4th time. The cycles take a very long time. When you choose the speed wash option, it doesn't wash very well. I'm the original owner, this wasn't a 2nd hand appliance. I don't think I'll purchase another GE washing machine.

Washes fine until it doesn't. Every year I have to replace the lock mechanism because it keeps breaking and won't unlock. Every year I have a load of laundry that didn't drain properly and is locked inside, so I have to break into my washer to get it out. Absolutely terrible. I can't wait to never use a GE washer ever again.

Today is the 7th anniversary of having this washer installed and a repairman came out today to tell me I would need to spend $600 to fix the control board plus the bearings are shot. I strongly believe appliances should last much longer than seven years, so this gets one star. Had it continued to work, I did like the different washing mode features, but shoddy craftsman ship ruins the whole thing. In addition, I also purchased a GE 30" Slide-in Electric Convection Oven in 2019 and today that had two knobs that need to be replaced because the burners were not being responsive. Overall, highly disappointed in GE's products, and will not be purchasing again.

My mom bought a matching set for my brother and wife for house warming/wedding gift. Barely used, the sensor that makes it spin went out.
Fixed it at a great cost... was given to me a year later and now the washer stopped spinning yet again. Doesn't appear to be good quality at this rate of it happening twice.

Has the washer for nearly 10 years. Only had to replace the main board recently. We use very hot water and it has held up just fine. The biggest issues are 1. The balancing of the washer has been an issue since day one. Washer is level but if the load isn't properly weight balanced you will get knocking and even start walking itself before the safety mechanisms stop the spin cycle. This causes you to needlessly wash extra items just to balance a load. 2. The amount of water used is comical. Small and medium are basically useless. So large and super with or without the deep fill option are all you can use. Even then it may not be enough water for something like a basket full of towels.
If those 2 issues were resolved this would be the perfect lowe priced washer on the market.

This is a horrible design, the 2nd thing a washing machine should be able to do besides washing close would be the rinse and spin GE total FAIL. Replaced support springs twice so far and now FAILED again. Total junk thanks GE. Was a loyal customer for 40 years bye bye.

We bought this washing machine about 6 years ago. There is only my husband and myself and the clutch is gone. Cannot be fixed for a reasonable price. Does not spin the clothes all the time. Clothes are really wet. I bought it because it had the different fill levels and settings which I used. I never overfilled the washer. I can tell you I will not ever buy a GE washer again.

Complete garbage! This washing machine does not drain the clothes fully I have had to wring out clothes by hand. I unplug and reset for the instructions and it still does not drain it doesn't even drain if I have just two to three towels in it. When I put it on the Drain & Spin cycle, it fills the tank with water again and then of course does not drain; what part of Drain & Spin includes water??
How is this energy efficient if I have to keep filling the machine over and over again and still does not drain
Going with a different brand will definitely not be buying another GE

I have milked this washing machine for almost 5 years but unfortunately it has finally crashed completely. It constantly resets itself right now it only will wash 1 load a day if I'm lucky. It will fill and then immediately drain and then the controls freeze up and won't let me start a load. It has gone through many many belts and when it's unbalanced it freaks out and won't wash another load until reset and sitting for hours. Of course all the problems started once the 1 year warranty was up too. It also does not get clothes very clean at all. I do not recommend this washer at all!

The operation of the controls is not well documented. Water depth selection in particular is mysterious. How can a two foot deep inner tub have only 5-6 inches if water in it when I select load size ™Super™ and select Deep Fill and the load contains sheets and towels? During the wash cycle they are so packed together that they can hardly move in the small amount of water n the tub.

Sadly, I would not recommend. My first GE Profile washer lasted 18+ years. I replaced with what I thought was similar, after 2 years in, I started needing service. The washer does not drain and spin properly. It stops, starts spinning again and then starts to refill. The service tech said it was because the load was "unbalanced". I also replaced the circut board. I have had 2 different service calls. It would work interminttently for a while and then back to same problems. Every load I had to hope that the machine would drain and spin, but more often, the clothes would be soaking wet. I had to wring by hand. The electronics on this are awful. I wish they made the old fashioned version.... I finally gave up and am buying a Speed Queen.

This is by far the worst washer I™™ve ever had. I don™™t usually write review so negatively, if at all but this GE washer is the worst I™™ve ever seen. It constantly has problems, either it won™™t run water, it won™™t rinse or spin or both, or the motor sounds like it™™s going to lock up. The balancing mechanism sucks to the point of almost non existent. I™™m not sure why it has all of these settings bc my washer runs the same wash cycle regardless of what it is set to do. It is so bad that I now no the trouble shooting process by heart due to all the times I™™ve had to go in and investigate and reset stuff.

We had issues from the very beginning with this water/dryer set. Bearings, control board, now the DTE insurance we have doesn™™t cover the part that has to be replaced. It will cost almost as much as a new unit if we use independent repairman. I was so very excited when we purchased this set brand new, it was the first matched set we have bought and I™™ve am so disappointed. I have never been more saddened by spending money with this company, not what it used to be.

It looks nice and has good features, but that's about it. I bought machine brand new about 6 yrs ago. Have had trouble from the get go with balance issues, especially when washing sheets and towels. It bounces out of place and very loudly too. Spent over $300.00 to replace a part about 2 yrs ago when it made loud grinding noises then just stopped working. It's been hit and miss with the draining and spin cycle after only having it for 2 yrs. And now the spin cycle just stopped working. Have to wring out the laundry in the sink before putting it in the dryer. It's been a headache.

Have had this washer since 2019 still going strong! Today it turned on by itself for the first time ever. Going to trouble shoot couple of possible issues but feel confident we can fix it. GE is the way to go, all our GE appliances have lasted longer than all others.

Within a couple years after we got the washer it needed the mother board replaced. Right after the 5 year warranty was up we needed the agitator replaced. Now it is just past 7 years and the tub is squealing when it is agitating. All along it was such a noisy machine especially when it made disturbing grinding sounds at the end of the spin cycle. Often times it would go off balance with one set of sheets and the whole machine would move out of place. Strangely enough everything always seemed to come out clean. Anyway, I am not setting an appointment for the squealing wash cycle because it cost over $100 just for a technician to come out. Stated; excludes labor or parts. So the $100 charge will not even count towards the total cost of the service but its in addition to the service. I am going to go with another brand now.
