Within the first 20 days in our home this new dryer stopped heating, would not turn off and had lights blinking accompanied by a high pitched squeal. Had to unplug it to get it to stop. Called for service and the first technician was able to run the dryer normally. After very few loads the dryer failed again. Had to start the repair process over again. Second technician said the circuit board failed. Today we are still waiting for the repair.

I had repaired our old dryer so many times and so finally decided to get a new one. A friend had mentioned their Speed Queen and how well it worked to them. We were on our way to a big box hardware store to wander the aisles when a neighbor said to try a local family furniture store. So, we did. The salesperson showed us their selection - exclusively Speed Queen washers and dryers, pointed out the differences and left us to discuss. We chose a mid-range model, paid, drove around to their loading dock and put it in the bed of our truck. Got it home and installed in no time.
My wife has been talking about it ever since. She loves the features, the quality, the way it gets clothes dry, the light in the tub, the lint trap and how easy it is to clean. Our daughter has used it for her clothes and commented on how easy it is to use. I have used it to refresh some shirts with the steam kit.
Basically, one month in and we are very pleased with our purchase and look forward to many years of quality service from our new dryer!

Since I bought a commercial grade washing machine, I wasn't expecting to have any issues with it considering I'm only one person that uses it and not an entire family. But, whenever I reopen the lid after it's started to add another item it would throw an error code and stop working. Apparently this is a known problem with these new machines. It's definitely a flaw. I try to not reposition now and not chance a problem.

Love the stainless steel. Few adjustments I need to learn. Stopping dryer when I interrupt the cycle. It doesn't like to be changed mid cycle. Doesn't always dry in first attempt.

Seems good so far. The auto dry doesn't seem to work too well. Only a month old. Maybe some what of a learning curve. At least it didn't wreck clothes like the Speed Queen washer we bought at the same time.

We've had our dryer for about a month now, and it has been great! It works well and our electric bill has not changed. The machine is well built and easy operation. It is pricey but worth it if I get 20 years out of it. When my Maytag washer quits we'll get the matching washer.

It's a very simple design, I use the 30 and 60 dry times as well as the steam refresh.
My favorite is the lint trap location inside the drum, make cleaning it easier and less messy.

probably only dryed10 loads of laundry before the memory board (brain of the dryer) went out. Speed Queen refused to replace the dryer instead they will repair. To date it's been 10 days, and I still don't have a repaired dryer.

I only had this dryer a little over a month, but am very pleased with it. It is well made and I purchased it after reviewing other gas dryers on the market that appeared to be cheaply made. My only recommendation would be that the dryer had an end of cycle alert notification that had a volume control switch.

Used it three times. Fourth time, alarm loudly sounded indicating door was open (it wasn't) and despite opening and closing door and even unplugging dryer overnight to attempt to reset mother board, no luck. Dryer ran but without heat and with ear-splitting and unceasing alarm. Technician from store where we bought it had to order new board and we are without a dryer for up to two weeks. Expected more, considering Speed Queen's excellent reputation and the fact we spent more on this dryer than any others we considered.

The auto-sensing feature does not dry items completely, so we have to use the time dry. But the only choices are 30 or 60 minutes, nothing in between. It is necessary to set a kitchen timer to check the items every 15 or 20 minutes.

I've owned this dryer for a month and am still trying to find the right settings to get my clothes dry. My old GE dryer was always able to dry to near perfection on the "automatic" setting. With this dryer I'm really struggling (and yes, I've read the manual). Right now I use the 30 minute setting and re-set for another 30 as needed. It's a bit frustrating!!! This dryer is also MUCH louder than the 20+ year old GE dryer I had previously. Would also like a volume control on the end of cycle buzzer.

Brand new machine stopped working after first load of drying on day it was installed, 10-12-2024. Seller said it is my responsibility to call in service request, but they would put it in as a favor. on 10-14-24 I called speed queen and they did not have a repair request from the local service department so they placed one. 10-16-24 service man arrived, never seen the problem and had to contact SQ engineering. SQ engineering told service person they are aware of this failure from other complaints and need to send out replacement parts. I called SQ customer service and they said there is no tracking for the parts and they wont honor a "Good Faith Payment" for me to do my laundry while they sort this out. The customer service person, xxx, actually hung up on me rather than trying to resolve the situation. During the end of call survey when I gave a satisfaction of very poor #1 the phone survey said that was an unacceptable answer and asked the question again. After another answer of very poor #1 the survey hung up on me too. Big question is that since engineering knows of this failure why is SQ still selling this model number??? There are no recalls or no ship orders and I believe this is unprofessional for a company like SQ. Even this review process is disconnected, it is for a dryer and asking questions about agitator size and wash quality. In hindsight i see that the BBB only has a C- rating for SQ. Would not have purchased SQ if i seen this before the incident. Service person arrived with new parts and fixed machine with new parts in 10 min on 10-24-24, some 12 days after delivery of brand new machine. Dryer has performed as advertised since repair.

I was so excited to purchase my new speed queen washer and dryer set, we have heard so many raving reviews. We had it delivered and installed in our new construction home. Within 3 weeks , our dryer was broken. We are now a month into this nightmare and still without a dryer. Speed Queen customer service has done nothing but gave us the run around and essentially told us they can do nothing about it other than have it serviced to be fixed. So here we are, still waiting to have our brand new dryer repaired, that was obviously faulty from the start. Extremely disappointing when Speed Queen is "supposedly" the best of the best.

Purchased this Speed Queen dryer on the recommendation of my sister. I have had problems with 2 GE dryers which each lasted just a little over 3 years so I knew I was going to buy something with better quality. My sister has used Speed Queen for years and thinks highly of them. I have only had my dryer a little over a month and so far everything is good. For the price, I hope it lasts longer than 3 years. It does seem to dry the clothes quicker.

I never purchased from the Speed Queen brand before. It was out of my budget, but I was sold on the longevity of the brand. Positives are it's quiet, it doesn't vibrate while in use, the lint catcher placement is great for me,and again the longevity of the brand itself. Negatives are it's quite doesn't dry as well as I was lead to believe it would.

I was excited to reintroduce Speed Queen back into my life. Growing up, we always had a Speed Queen Washing Machine and Dryer. However, after purchasing my Speed Queen dryer and using it for less than one week, I had an issue with it. The panel showed the door was open when it was not and the extended tumble light was also on; while the dryer was not running. There was also an extremely loud shrieking sound coming from the dryer and the only way to stop it was to unplug the dryer. The dryer was also not heating, but running until it was unplugged.
I called the Speed Queen customer service number and after waiting 25 minutes on hold, the agent told me I needed to contact the place of purchase, which was Abt, in Glenview, IL. I then did so and had to wait over a week for a service appointment.
When the repairman came to look at the dryer, he fiddled with it a bit and was able to get the noise to stop and the dryer resumed heating and the lights went off. He also said it may be a problem with a panel, so we ordered the panel and hoped we would not need it.
It took over 10 days for the part to come in, but the dryer was still working, so we did not schedule service. Two days later, the lights came on again, the dryer would not heat and the shrieking sound returned. I immediately called for service from Abt and they were able to schedule me with only a three day wait, after I pleaded my case and told them I have been having trouble with the dryer basically since I accepted delivery.
During the second service call, the new panel was installed, the dryer heated, the lights did not come on and there was no shrieking sound. I have now been using the dryer for a little over 10 days and so far, so good.
I was very disappointed in this Speed Queen product and am hesitant to recommend your company to family and friends. I am hoping this is the end of my story and I will enjoy many years of a working dryer.

I've had my Speed Queen dryer for three years, and for the past four months, it's been plagued by an irritating squeak during use. Despite multiple technician visits, the issue remains unresolved, leaving me frustrated with both the product and the service. The dryer works as expected and the clothes dry nicely. There is a loud sound when drying medium to heavy loads, but a tech came out and ordered a part. The part took about two to three weeks for the tech to return for the repair. The repair is scheduled for next week. Overall we are happy with the dryer.
