Love my Speed Queen Dryer, it doesn't take as long to dry any type of clothing as my Frigidaire did. It's fairly quiet once it gets past the "take off" of tumbling a couple of times. Balance is right on but still makes a bit of a noise when it first tumbles a couple times, no matter what type of clothing is drying.

My 7 year old SQ dryer had a burnt wire, so I immediately went to buy a new SQ dryer because I LOVED my old one!! This new one doesn't dry small loads! Doesn't work for just 2 people! The quality of this MACHINE is NOT like my old one! I called SQ customer service and also my dealer I was told Oh yes that's true it won't dry small loads! Well, my old one would! I paid $1300 for a dryer that doesn't dry small loads and a dryer should dry! I will not purchase another SQ…Your quality is not the same! VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Love this dryer. It's so quiet. My only issue is that I cannot set the end of cycle buzzer. Nothing seems to work. Contacted where I bought it. What they told me to do didn't work. Contacted Speed Queen online and was asked to enter my credit card for help. No way.

Ruined the Speed Queen Dryer. The auto dry does not work never dry. You have to put it on 30 or 60 minutes instead of just putting it on auto and now keep checking the clothes. Never dry on 30 and cooked on 60. Impossible to hear the faint buzzer go off. The only way to turn it off is pushing the button that restarts the dryer and goes all through the cycles before finally shutting off. Wish I had paid to fix my old one or bought a different brand.

There are NO WORDS to express how delighted I am.....and that I bought a new Speed Queen dryer. It matches my 2 years old washer. I love the 30 minute cycle, and have been able to use it constantly. I have figured out how many clothes, of similar textures/fabrics, to dry in that time. What a relief to know they will all be dry in that time allotted. The lint catcher is easy to clean. Thank You Speed Queen!!!!

I love the dryer. The manual does not clearly state how to use the boost cycle. I called speed queen and the help line was not helpful and didn't know how to assist me. i had to have a service technician come out and he solved the problem in ten minutes. Steam boast can only be used on two settings otherwise the light will not go on and work properly.

My previous set of Maytags lasted 1 month short of 30 years. The dryer was still working well but I chose to buy this as part of a matched set. So far I really like. It's plenty big inside. Haven't figured out all the settings yet but it drys my clothes fast and it's easy on the permanent press items. The interior light is a nice touch. I am pleased with this dryer.

Well it drys good. However had to have a repair man come check out the dryer because it was making a really loud noise and there was only sheets in it. He says it needs a new bulkhead and drum. Still waiting on those parts to come in and its been 3 weeks. The dryer was even 3 months old. Was happy about that.

Great features, love that I can pause it, add more forgotten items, let things soak, run another spin cycle, choose a deep fill option to fill the tub for big comforters & blankets, use a normal - eco cycle that uses less water. The other best features of this washing machine are the self clean built into the machine, no more running a 3+ hour clean cycle like on the front loading machine I had, the wash cycles are so much faster than a front loader, it's going to save me money in electric bills....this machine has been fantastic!! My household consists of me & my husband & we do laundry everyday, this machine is exactly what we thought it would be & more. We do own the matching dryer & purchased this four years ago. The dryer is just as amazing & I know our electric bill has decreased since owning our Speed Queen appliances. Thank you for making such quality products that I know will last us a lifetime.

The dryer is a good dryer. It dries sufficiently. I wish there was a heat level between delicates and permanent press. I like to dry jeans and tops on a low heat so as not to shrink items. The delicates heat level is very low and does dry the clothes but takes a lot of time, about an hour and three quarters to 2 hours. The permanent press takes less time but shrinks the clothes. My sheets, say dry on low. I use the delicates heat level and they too take a long time. I like the steam boost feature but rarely use it because you cannot use it on the delicates heat level. The lint screen seems to be a bit flimsy and cheaply made for a dryer that costs a whole lot more than other dryers. I hope it will last, time will tell. I purchased a Speed Queen because my washer is also a Speed Queen and is great. I do not need fancy bells and whistles, wifi controlled appliances and computerized, light up screens and the other things they put on appliances. I just want appliances that do what they are suppose to do without apps or connected to a phone, that I do not have to study on online manual for hours trying to figure out how to work it, etc. And importantly, last longer than 5 or 6 years and do not have built in obsolescence features.

Really like it! I can set the dials once for most of my drying. Seldom do I need to make adjustments. Cleaning the lent drawer is easy. I LOVE the light, didn't know what I was missing. It's quiet.

This dryer has a great capacity and seems very durable. However, sometimes the laundry does not completely dry on a chosen cycle, so you have to run it again. Even the 60 minute cycle.
A feature I think it lacks is showing time left on a cycle, which is helpful to know. And also, it seems one cannot set it to run a short cycle. So you have to keep track of the time if you want something to dry for anything less than 30 minutes.

I am very disappointed in the Speed Queen Dryer DR model. I purchased it on 8/25/23, with the warranty. The service man has been here about 5 times for the same problem. I have made a call this morning to have the service man back out here again, a different problem, which may be related. Waiting for service to return a call. I have the Speed Queen Washer, which I bought several years before the dryer and was very pleased. Very disappointed in this dryer.

Aspects I LIKE about my new dryer:
*It works;
*It has a 5-year warranty;
*An interior light is genius;
*It matches my washer (purchased previously).
Aspects I DON'T like about my new dryer:
*Abysmal user manual. So many instructions regarding sorting of clothes and which dry cycle to use. Anyone who has washed clothes can figure that out. What we can't figure out is not addressed in the manual.
*How to activate tone indicating cycle end? Complicated. Had to look it up on the Speed Queen website. And, why do we need a tone indicating cycle selection changes?
*Cycle end tone is too high-pitched, too brief and cannot be heard at all if laundry room door is closed. The cool-down portion of the drying cycle is then negated since we don't know the cycle has ended and clothes sit in dryer . . . requiring another cycle to get the wrinkles out!
*Why no time drying interval between 30 and 60? Sometimes 30 is too short and 60 is too long. No way to tell what stage it's at in the drying cycle, either. Frustrating.
*Read on your website that cycle selection knob should only be turned clockwise. That was indicated nowhere in the manual.
*Having to hold down the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds to cancel a cycle is insanity. How about an on/off button instead?
*Speaking of those buttons – touch one just slightly (when cleaning) and your dryer starts!
*Lint trap is difficult to clean. If there is a minimal amount of lint in the trap, scraping your fingernails along the screen is necessary to get the lint out. A removable lint trap screen (like my previous dryer had) would have been a whole lot easier to clean.
My previous dryer lasted me 25 years, partially due to its simplistic design and the fact that I use my outdoor clothesline extensively. Since this will most likely be the last dryer I purchase, I'm a bit disappointed. Love my Speed Queen washer; love/hate relationship with this dryer, though. I expected much more from Speed Queen.

We purchased this Anerican engineered and manufactured set hoping that it will provide long and reliable service even though it cost more than the competition. We have not used the steam function yet. The unit dries well (gas) and is quiet enough. We like the simple controls and the effective and easy to use lint screen.

This is a very nice dryer. I sometimes have trouble with the sensing mode on heavier items, especially items that require lower heat settings, and I'm still trying to decide if I should use sensing or just timed dry on gentle cycle.

As many other reviewers have mentioned, this dryer does not even remotely meet the high quality standards or functionality I would expect from Speed Queen. Along with the washer this was my first Speed Queen purchase. I owned my dryer one day and the motherboard had to be replaced. I would return this dryer in a heartbeat if I had the opportunity. The drying cycle is poorly designed. Auto sensing does not work well, and with the 30 or 60 minute timed cycle, clothes are either under-dried or over-dried. I have worked with the fabric settings and still not happy with the results. The buzzer for the end of cycle is extremely low. I do not have a hearing problem and cannot even hear it go off being in the next room. I have been forced to use a separate timer just so I can hear it. I had a manual button on my former dryer you could either turn on or off, and it was nice and loud. I am beyond frustrated with this unit. The dryer and the washer were highly recommended after my Maytag unit of 16 years died. For the cost of the unit I expect better performance results.

I COULD NOT LOVE THIS DRYER ANY MORE THAN I DO!!!! With the " energy efficient" dryers my clothes were never actually getting completely dry. With the speed queen, my clothes are completely dry in a short amount of time and they smell so good. I could not be happier with this purchase. Upon installation, my dryer was making a grinding noise. The installer tried repositioning the dryer, which helped momentarily. He made another visit to remedy it, but to no avail. The store sent an appliance repairman a few days later. He disassembled the dryer and replaced a wheel inside, which solved the problem. The dryer works well now, however it beeps at me repeatedly if I put something on top of the dryer. To stop it I have to press the on/off button for 3 seconds. I'm concerned that this dryer might not be up to SQ standards.
