We love our Speed Queen Dryer, it was one of the best purchases we have ever made. The clothes actually fully dry with this dryer unlike our Samsung with the sensor that would stop the dryer why they were still damp. Purchasing the version with the steamer has been an incredible smart decision as it not only replaced our stand alone clothes steam but it also works better.

I purchased a speed queen washer and dryer and within a year the dryers heating element went out. Not a huge problem as those are relatively easy to swap out. However, the warranty coverage was less than ideal. Between the struggle to find someone in my local area and the very store bought it from not being on list (despite frequent inquiries trying to get on the list), it took almost a week to find someone. Once I did, it took a month for the warranty shop to both order parts and fit us into their schedule. We use our machine every day (4 kids plus daycare) and a month without a dryer was a big problem for us and ultimately cost us additional money and time with having to go to a laundromat to wash and dry our clothes. At the end of the day speedqueen did make it right, but it was not without its hassles.
Beyond that, the machines have worked well and we are very happy with them. The do a great job cleaning and drying clothes. Easy to install. Easy to maintain as a user.

This dryer is great. We use it on LP propane and it works well. I like the cycles for pet things, like rugs and blankets. I use the Heavy Duty setting most often, as I wash towels a lot. Heavy duty works well for jeans as well. It is so well lit inside, that I don't miss those grey socks that used to get left behind! It's big enough to dry my queen sized comforter as well.

I wondered what the "Extended Tumble" was, I read about it in the manual, tried it on some trousers, then on Permeant Press shirts, and the wrinkles went way down, nice feature. All together, we are glad we got it. Also, like the easy to clean Lint Filter.

I'm very disappointed that my dryer has broken down twice in less than two years. It was supposed to be a quality machine and the service people in my area say they will no longer service Speed Queen because they have seen so many issues in the past couple years. My machine has a 7 year warranty and I'm still waiting for Speed Queen to get someone out to fix it since it broke ago two months ago!

Was great until 3 weeks ago when it quit heating. Called into speed queen told them it wasn't heating. They put out and order for repair. After 5 days I called back in again they gave me a name of a company that would repair my dryer but I had to wait another 4 days
Then their technician came out and said they had to order parts . Now it's been another week . I'm very disappointed in your service of your product. When I was a sears appliance technician I always promoted your product to the customers I serviced . It's been Nothing but a big let down. Steven

Love the variety of settings. Unfortunately, the heating system went bad pretty quickly. According to the service technician, this has been common in this model and needed a new heating kit replaced because this model had an inaccurate thermostat which burned out the heating unit. They were on manufacturer backorder and took over 4 weeks. We ended up buying a cheap dryer so we didn't have to keep going to the laundromat. They can tell by the sticker on the heating unit if it is the bad one so make sure you have that looked at before you purchase your model. I don't understand why they haven't changed them out in the unsold products, since they know it's an issue.

If you are in need of laundry machines, you can stop the search. Speed Queen delivers the best on the market. Built like tanks, they do their job and keep doing it. No more stupid service calls where they say "you know its really not worth replacing this part because it will be cheaper for you to buy a whole new unit." They are at the higher end of the price range but you will not need to buy again in five years. Great laundry machines! Same quality as the speed queens in the laundrymats!

We bought our Speed Queen washer and dryer set from Judd and Black in Mt. Vernon, WA after it was highly recommended by the salesman. He claimed that they never break and have a great warranty. We used our dryer 2 times and then the control board broke. Took 2 weeks to get another control board installed and we still have problems. It's buying a new car and then the engine blows up within the first couple miles. I don't want a new part I want a new Dryer. DO NOT BUY SPEED QUEEN! Come on Speed Queen. Be better. I feel like we received a lemon.

We thought this would be great but the dryer vent is burning our clothes and blankets, even on the low setting. I do not recommend you buy this product. Costumer service was great but they replaced the dryer vent part with the same dryer vent and it continues to burn our clothes. Seems like a fire hazard.

Product was purchased based on the Speed Queen reputation for durability and reliability. However, within the first month the main control board required removal and replacement. Dealer was very supportive and move quickly to order and replace. None the less, a defect so early in ownership concerns me.

Got the DR7 to match our TRN and after the first use I was amazed at how well it dried my clothes! First, the clothes that came out of the TR7 were already LESS DAMP than the other brand we used, and the sensor cycle made it quick and easy. I had a steam cycle on another dryer before and used it only once with mixed results. The steam cycle on the DR7 worked amazing well at releasing wrinkles and making my clothes look great. Who wants to iron in the first place?

My husband chose this machine solely for the pet hair removal function and it actually works! This machine cleans more lint and threads from laundry than others. Permanent press items need less ironing, often ready to just put on the hanger. Used the sanitizing cycle during a recent illness stopping the spread of a bacterial infection. Worthwhile assets.

Our appliance repair guy highly recommended that we go with Speed Queen. We did and I'm not sure we should have. The documentation is sparse and doesn't really do the job. The control panel looks like it offers extensive control but the documentation doesn't really explain how to use it for various types of loads. The auto sensing for how dry the clothes are does not seem to work. You really have to figure out how long it takes to dry a given type of load and then used the timed dry. Customer support was not helpful at all except they sent out a warranty service person who seemed to know less than we did.

I really wanted to love this dryer, but in just the month or two that I've had it, I've already had 3 major annoyances:
1) When washing an item with zippers, 2 of the zippers got caught in the plastic mesh guard that keeps items out of the lint catcher. I was bent/twisted from the heat, and the other snapped in half because of the heat and twisting.
2) Another time when drying a load, something caught the smaller plastic piece that keeps items out of the lint guard, and this piece was tossed around with the rest of the laundry. It is now warped, though it does still fit in place.
3) Drying performance is surprisingly poor for "the proven performer in laundry". When washing a large quilt or sheet with elastic, for example, smaller items always get caught in the middle and aren't dry when the time is up. Or, when I washed a medium-sized memory foam mat, it got wedged against the front of the dryer, trapping heat from flowing evenly and leaving everything damp. Both of these times, I didn't overload the dryer.
I purchased this dryer to last at least 15 years and to dry my clothes without issue. I'm confident (so far) it will accomplish the first task, but so far, it really hasn't done great with the second. For a $1500 machine, I expected more, and I overall can't recommend this product so far. If it does end up lasting 15+ years, then overall, I would recommend this item.
As for the store I bought it from, I can't speak highly enough about them! Delivery was seamless, the price was the best I found, and the seller was very knowledgeable.
